- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 5 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Dressing
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp honey
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Season steak and shrimp: In a bowl, coat the sirloin steak and peeled shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, ensuring even coverage of the seasonings.
- Preheat grill: Heat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat until hot and ready for cooking.
- Grill steak: Place the steak on the grill and cook for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, adjusting the time based on the steak thickness and your preferred level of doneness.
- Grill shrimp: Cook the shrimp on the grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until they turn opaque and are cooked through.
- Rest and slice steak: Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes to retain juices, then slice it thinly against the grain.
- Assemble salad base: On a large serving platter, arrange the mixed salad greens, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado, cucumber, and thinly sliced red onion evenly.
- Prepare dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together extra virgin olive oil, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and black pepper until the dressing is emulsified and smooth.
- Top salad: Layer the sliced steak and grilled shrimp on top of the assembled salad greens and vegetables.
- Dress and garnish: Drizzle the lemon-garlic dressing evenly over the salad and finish with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley.
- Serve: Serve the salad immediately for optimal freshness and flavor.
Notes
- Choose ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon based on your meat preference and budget.
- Avoid overcooking shrimp to maintain tenderness and prevent rubbery texture.
- Optional: Add crumbled blue cheese or shaved Parmesan for extra richness and flavor.
- Serve alongside crusty bread for a more filling meal experience.
