The creamy Parmesan sauce pairs beautifully with shrimp, and it serves wonderfully over pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
Ingredients
Seafood
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
Vegetables and Aromatics
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup fresh spinach
Dairy
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasonings and Oils
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil: In a large skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat to prepare for cooking the shrimp and aromatics.
- Cook the shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Then, remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside to prevent overcooking.
- Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
- Add sun-dried tomatoes: Stir in the chopped sun-dried tomatoes and cook for 1 additional minute to infuse their flavor with the garlic and oil.
- Simmer the cream: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer to thicken the sauce slightly.
- Incorporate cheese and seasonings: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, mixing well until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
- Wilt the spinach: Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until it wilts down, about 1 to 2 minutes, incorporating it fully into the sauce.
- Return shrimp to skillet: Place the cooked shrimp back into the skillet with the sauce and spinach. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the shrimp are heated through and coated with the creamy sauce.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. This dish pairs excellently with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Notes
- Serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- Add mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
- Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version of the sauce.
