Ingredients
Chicken and Cooking
- 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Teriyaki Sauce
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
For Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Heat Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering and hot.
- Cook Chicken: Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant without burning.
- Prepare Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until smooth and combined.
- Simmer Sauce: Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir well and simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken evenly, about 3–5 minutes.
