Description

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy rolls filled with sweet strawberry jam and cinnamon, then topped with a creamy glaze. They offer a delightful fruity twist on the classic cinnamon roll, making them perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Filling

  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes foamy, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Prepare the dough mixture: Add the egg, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine.
  3. Knead the dough: Gradually add the flour while mixing, then knead the dough until it is soft and elastic.
  4. First rise: Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  5. Roll out the dough: On a floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle.
  6. Spread the filling: Evenly spread the strawberry jam over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Form the rolls: Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and cut it into 12 equal slices.
  8. Second rise: Place the slices in a greased baking dish, spacing them slightly apart, and let them rise again for 20 minutes.
  9. Bake the rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes until they are golden brown on top.
  10. Prepare the glaze and serve: Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create a glaze. Drizzle over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.

Notes

  • Fresh strawberries can be added to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
  • Cream cheese frosting can be substituted for the glaze to add richness.
