Description
This Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast recipe features tender chicken breasts filled with a creamy mixture of spinach, cream cheese, and mozzarella, baked to golden perfection for a deliciously cheesy and hearty meal.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts
Filling
- 1 cup spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed chicken breasts.
- Prepare Filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated for a creamy filling.
- Stuff Chicken Breasts: Carefully cut a pocket into each chicken breast without cutting all the way through. Stuff each pocket with the spinach and cheese mixture. Secure the opening with toothpicks to keep the filling inside during baking.
- Bake: Place the stuffed chicken breasts on a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese filling is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove toothpicks cautiously before serving. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then serve warm for a comforting main dish.
Notes
- You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or gouda for a different flavor.
- Ensure chicken breasts are evenly sized for uniform cooking.
- Adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling can add a mild heat.
- Use fresh spinach for the best texture and taste, but frozen (thawed and drained) spinach can also be used.
- Check internal temperature of chicken to ensure it reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
