Juicy salmon burgers topped with crispy bacon and peppery arugula create a delicious twist on the classic burger that’s perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
Salmon Burgers
- 1 lb fresh salmon, skin removed and finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For Serving
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 cup arugula
- Optional: mayonnaise or aioli
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients. In a bowl, combine salmon, egg, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all ingredients.
- Form Patties. Shape the salmon mixture into 4 equal patties, ensuring they hold together well to avoid falling apart during cooking.
- Cook Patties. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Toast Buns. Toast the burger buns in the same skillet or toaster if desired for added texture and flavor.
- Assemble Burgers. Layer each bun with a salmon patty, a slice of crispy bacon, a handful of fresh arugula, and mayonnaise or aioli if using.
- Serve. Serve the salmon burgers immediately while warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Chilling the patties for 15 minutes before cooking helps them hold together during cooking.
- Substitute spinach for arugula for a milder leafy green option.
