Ingredients
Crust
- 1 pie crust
Filling
- 1 3/4 cups pumpkin puree
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) to get it ready for baking the pie.
- Mix filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, and heavy cream until smooth and fully combined.
- Add spices and salt: Stir in cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt thoroughly into the pumpkin mixture to evenly distribute the warm spices.
- Pour into crust: Carefully pour the spiced pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top for even baking.
- Initial bake: Bake the pie at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes to set the crust and start firming the filling.
- Reduce temperature: Lower the oven heat to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for another 35–40 minutes until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack to allow the filling to fully firm and develop flavor.
Notes
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream for an extra creamy touch.
- Be careful not to overbake to prevent cracks appearing on the pie surface.
