Description

A moist and rich banana bread swirled with creamy Nutella, combining the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with indulgent chocolate hazelnut spread. This delightful treat is perfect for dessert or an anytime snack, offering a soft texture with luscious Nutella swirls throughout.

Ingredients

Banana Bread Batter

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Nutella Swirl

  • ½ cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a standard loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, egg, oil (or melted butter), granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold these dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
  4. Layer Batter and Nutella: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drop spoonfuls of Nutella over the batter, then gently swirl with a knife or skewer to create marbled patterns.
  5. Add Remaining Batter and Final Swirl: Pour the remaining batter over the Nutella layer, smoothing the top. Add additional spoonfuls of Nutella on top and swirl again lightly to distribute the swirl effect.
  6. Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep your banana bread soft and tender.
  • Ensure bananas are ripe for best sweetness and texture.
  • Use a gentle swirling motion to create pretty Nutella patterns without blending it too much.
  • Store the banana bread wrapped in plastic or in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
  • This bread can be frozen for up to 2 months if well wrapped.
