Ingredients
Peanut Butter Layer
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups (250g) powdered sugar
- 2 cups (200g) graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup (250g) creamy peanut butter
Chocolate Topping
- 1½ cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup (60g) creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Prepare the pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the bars once set.
- Make the peanut butter layer: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs, and creamy peanut butter until the mixture is smooth and well incorporated.
- Form the base: Press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating a uniform layer.
- Melt chocolate topping: Gently melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and ¼ cup creamy peanut butter together until smooth, either using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Top the base: Spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the peanut butter layer to form a smooth chocolate topping.
- Chill and set: Refrigerate the assembled bars for 1 to 2 hours or until the chocolate topping is firm.
- Serve: Remove from the refrigerator, cut into 24 bars, and serve chilled.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the bars well before slicing.
- Substitute crunchy peanut butter for added texture in the bars.
- Store the bars refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week to maintain freshness.
