Description
Mini S’mores are bite-sized versions of the classic campfire treat, featuring crunchy graham crackers, gooey toasted marshmallows, and melted chocolate. These easy treats deliver all the nostalgic flavors of traditional s’mores without needing a campfire. Perfect for summer parties, family movie nights, barbecues, and quick desserts, they can be prepared in the oven in just minutes.
Ingredients
Base
- 12 graham cracker sheets, broken into 24 small squares
Fillings
- 12 marshmallows, halved
- 12 squares milk chocolate or 1 cup chocolate chips
Optional
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Arrange Base Crackers: Place half of the graham cracker squares (12 pieces) evenly on the prepared baking sheet as the base of each mini s’more.
- Add Marshmallows: Put one marshmallow half on each graham cracker square, cut side down, to prepare them for toasting.
- Bake for Toasting: Bake for 3–5 minutes, watching carefully to ensure the marshmallows puff up and turn a light golden color without burning.
- Add Chocolate: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately place a square of milk chocolate or a spoonful of chocolate chips atop each warm, toasted marshmallow.
- Top and Press: Place the remaining graham cracker squares on top of the chocolate-covered marshmallows and gently press down to form a sandwich.
- Optional Softening: Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven for 30–60 seconds if you want the chocolate to soften and meld with the marshmallow.
- Cool Before Serving: Allow the mini s’mores to cool for 2–3 minutes. This step ensures the filling sets slightly and is safe to eat without burning your mouth.
Notes
- Use a broiler: For a more toasted marshmallow flavor, broil for 30–60 seconds, watching constantly to prevent burning.
- Chocolate options: Try dark chocolate, white chocolate, or peanut butter cups for variety.
- No graham crackers: Substitute with digestive biscuits or other crisp, sweet biscuits if unavailable.
- Party variation: Add sliced strawberries or banana inside the mini s’mores for a fruity twist.
- Make ahead: Assemble just before baking for the best texture and experience.
- Storage: Best eaten immediately; leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day, though crackers may soften.
