Ingredients
Meat and Seasoning
- 1½ lbs flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Tacos and Garnishes
- 12 small corn tortillas
- ½ cup white onion, finely diced
- ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 limes, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Prepare the beef seasoning: In a bowl, toss the thinly sliced flank steak or sirloin with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Cook the beef: Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat until hot. Add the seasoned beef and cook for 4–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
- Warm the tortillas: Using a dry skillet or directly over a gas flame, warm each corn tortilla for a few seconds on each side until pliable and slightly toasted.
- Assemble the tacos: Fill each warm tortilla with a portion of the cooked beef, then top with the finely diced white onion and freshly chopped cilantro.
- Serve: Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing fresh lime juice over the tacos before eating.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Add salsa, avocado, or cotija cheese for additional toppings.
- Best served immediately while the tacos are warm and fresh.
