Description

Juicy chicken breasts coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. This easy one-pan recipe is packed with flavor and makes a quick weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  2. Heat Oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering to prepare for searing the chicken.
  3. Cook Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown and almost cooked through.
  4. Add Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar to create the sweet and savory sauce.
  6. Add Sauce to Skillet: Pour the honey garlic sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
  7. Thicken Sauce: Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry, then stir it into the simmering sauce to thicken it.
  8. Simmer Sauce: Let the sauce simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until it becomes thick and glossy, coating the chicken evenly.
  9. Finish Cooking Chicken: Spoon the sauce over the chicken continuously and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) to ensure it’s fully cooked.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving for added freshness and color.
