Ingredients
Bread and Cheese
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 12 pieces
- 8 ounces burrata cheese
Grilled Peaches
- 2 ripe peaches, halved and sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Toppings and Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat to ensure proper charring and toasting for the peaches and bread.
- Prepare Peaches: Brush the peach slices lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance grilling.
- Grill Peaches: Place the peach slices on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until they develop light grill marks and a smoky flavor.
- Toast Baguette: While peaches grill, toast the baguette slices on the grill for 1–2 minutes on each side until they are crisp and golden.
- Assemble Crostini: Tear the burrata cheese into portions and spread evenly onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Add Peaches: Arrange grilled peach slices on top of the cheese-covered crostini.
- Finish with Seasoning: Drizzle each crostini with balsamic glaze, then sprinkle with chopped fresh basil, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Nectarines make an excellent substitute for peaches when unavailable.
- Grill the bread just before serving to maintain a crispy texture.
- Add a drizzle of hot honey on top for a delicious sweet-spicy variation.
- Best enjoyed fresh to preserve the contrast of textures and flavors.
