Description
Grilled Mahi Mahi is a light, healthy seafood dish featuring flaky fish fillets seasoned with garlic, paprika, and fresh citrus. Grilled to perfection, it’s an easy meal that’s ideal for summer dinners and backyard cookouts.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 4 mahi mahi fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat to ensure the fish cooks evenly without sticking.
- Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful marinade.
- Marinate the fish: Brush both sides of each mahi mahi fillet generously with the prepared marinade to infuse flavor and help prevent drying out during grilling.
- Grill the fillets: Place the fillets on the preheated grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Rest the fish: Remove the mahi mahi from the grill and let it rest for 2 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the fillets and serve with fresh lemon wedges for added brightness.
Notes
- Oil the grill grates before cooking to prevent the fish from sticking.
- Serves beautifully alongside grilled vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
- Both fresh and frozen-thawed mahi mahi fillets work well for this recipe.
