Description

Creamy cheese tortellini tossed in a rich Gorgonzola cream sauce with garlic and Parmesan. An elegant yet easy pasta dish perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

For the Tortellini

  • 20 ounces cheese tortellini

For the Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Cook the cheese tortellini according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  3. Add and Simmer Cream: Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer, allowing it to slightly thicken and infuse with garlic flavor.
  4. Melt Cheeses into Sauce: Add the crumbled Gorgonzola and grated Parmesan cheese to the cream, stirring constantly until both cheeses have fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Season the Sauce: Taste the sauce and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper according to your preference.
  6. Toss Tortellini with Sauce: Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet with the sauce, tossing gently but thoroughly to coat each piece evenly in the rich Gorgonzola cream sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for color and fresh flavor. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Add fresh spinach or sautéed mushrooms to the sauce for extra nutrition and flavor.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter, lower-calorie sauce.
