Ingredients
Protein
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Cooking Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Sauces & Seasonings
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp black pepper
Garnishes
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the Oil: Warm the vegetable oil on a large Blackstone griddle or skillet over medium-high heat to ensure a hot cooking surface for proper searing.
- Cook the Steak: Lightly season the sirloin steak cubes with black pepper, then add them to the hot griddle. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak pieces are nicely browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Move Steak Aside: Push the cooked steak to one side of the griddle to make space for the shrimp to cook separately, preventing overcooking.
- Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp onto the empty side of the griddle, cooking them 2–3 minutes per side until they turn pink and curl up, indicating they are fully cooked.
- Add Garlic Butter: Stir in the butter and minced garlic on the griddle, cooking until fragrant and the butter melts and coats the steak and shrimp.
- Incorporate Sauces: Pour the low-sodium soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and sesame oil over the steak and shrimp mixture. Toss everything thoroughly until all pieces are evenly coated with the savory glaze.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the griddle from heat and sprinkle the sliced green onions and sesame seeds over the top. Serve immediately with fried rice and hibachi-style vegetables for a complete meal.
Notes
- Cooking the steak and shrimp separately ensures even cooking and prevents overcooking delicate shrimp.
- Enhance the meal by serving with yum yum sauce or ginger sauce for dipping.
- This dish pairs excellently with hibachi vegetables and traditional fried rice for a complete hibachi dining experience at home.
