Ingredients
Coffee Base
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, chilled
- 1 cup ice cubes
Optional Add-ins
- ¼ cup milk or cream
- 1–2 tablespoons simple syrup or your preferred sweetener, to taste
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Brew the coffee: Brew 1 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method and allow it to cool completely to avoid melting the ice too quickly and watering down the drink.
- Prepare the glass: Fill a tall glass with 1 cup of ice cubes to chill your coffee thoroughly.
- Combine coffee and ice: Pour the chilled coffee over the ice-filled glass, ensuring the ice starts to cool the coffee evenly.
- Add milk and sweeteners: Stir in ¼ cup of milk or cream if desired, followed by 1 to 2 tablespoons of simple syrup or sweetener to your preferred taste, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract for added flavor if using.
- Mix and serve: Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients thoroughly and serve immediately for a refreshing, homemade iced coffee experience.
Notes
- Use cold brew coffee for an even smoother flavor and less acidity.
- Freeze leftover coffee into ice cubes to prevent dilution when making iced coffee.
- Customize this recipe by adding caramel, mocha, or other flavored syrups for variety.
