Description

Savory mushroom caps filled with a creamy crab mixture—an elegant and delicious appetizer perfect for parties or special occasions, combining fresh ingredients and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 16 large mushrooms (stems removed)

Crab Filling

  • 1 cup crab meat (cooked)
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Finishing

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the stuffed mushrooms.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Clean the mushrooms thoroughly and carefully remove the stems, creating a cavity for the crab filling.
  3. Mix Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked crab meat, softened cream cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  4. Stuff Mushrooms: Spoon the crab mixture into each mushroom cap, filling them generously but neatly.
  5. Arrange and Drizzle: Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking tray and drizzle olive oil evenly over them for added moisture and flavor.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm, optionally adding a squeeze of lemon juice to enhance flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh crab for the best flavor and texture.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice just before serving to brighten the flavors.
  • For a crispier top, you can broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully.
