Description

Chocolate Lush is a decadent no-bake layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, a creamy blend of cream cheese and whipped topping, rich chocolate pudding, and a smooth Cool Whip topping. Perfect for easy entertaining and sweet cravings without heating up the kitchen.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 package Oreo cookies, crushed (about 36 cookies)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (16 oz) container Cool Whip, divided

Pudding Layer

  • 2 packages instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz each)
  • 3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press the cookie mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish to form a firm crust.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in half of the Cool Whip (about 8 oz) until fully combined. Spread this creamy mixture evenly over the cookie crust.
  3. Prepare pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix with 3 cups of cold milk until it thickens, about 2 minutes. Spread the pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Add the topping: Spread the remaining Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer, covering the dessert completely.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or until set and chilled through. Slice into 12 servings and enjoy.

Notes

  • For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and whole milk for a richer texture.
  • You can substitute homemade whipped topping if desired, but Cool Whip provides optimal stability.
  • Press the cookie crust firmly to prevent crumbling when sliced.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • For variation, sprinkle chocolate shavings or crushed Oreos on top before chilling.
