Ingredients
Meat
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
Vegetables
- 1½ lbs baby potatoes, diced
Seasonings & Oils
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Dairy
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Garnish
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the potatoes and sausage evenly.
- Prepare the Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the diced baby potatoes with olive oil, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. This coating infuses the potatoes with bold ranch flavor and ensures they crisp nicely.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned potatoes evenly on a baking sheet, creating space for the sausage slices to be added around the edges or among the potatoes for even cooking.
- Add the Smoked Sausage: Distribute the sliced smoked sausage on the baking sheet alongside the potatoes. This allows both to cook together and blend flavors.
- Bake the Potatoes and Sausage: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes. Stir halfway through the baking time to promote even cooking and to prevent sticking. The potatoes should be tender and golden brown when done.
- Add the Cheese: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the potatoes and sausage.
- Melt the Cheese: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley for freshness and color, and serve warm for a comforting and flavorful meal.
Notes
- You can substitute kielbasa or turkey sausage for smoked sausage based on your preference.
- Add diced bell peppers or onions alongside the potatoes for extra flavor and texture.
- Serve with sour cream or ranch dressing on the side for dipping to enhance the ranch flavor.
