Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
For Serving
- Marinara sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until a thick dough forms.
- Form Bites: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll them into small balls with your hands for consistent size and shape.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the cheese balls on the prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each so they bake evenly.
- Bake: Bake the bites for 12 to 15 minutes until they turn golden brown and develop a crisp outer layer.
- Cool Slightly: Remove the tray from the oven and let the bites cool for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing them to set slightly.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the bites for a fresh touch, and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, lightly spray the bites with cooking oil before baking.
- These bites can also be cooked in an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes as an alternative cooking method.
- Best enjoyed fresh while the cheese inside is still gooey and warm.
