Ingredients
Chicken and Vegetables
- 2 lbs (900g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
- 4 cups broccoli florets
Cheese Sauce and Seasoning
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- Prepare Baking Dish: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add cubed chicken breasts and cook for 5–6 minutes until they are lightly browned but not fully cooked through.
- Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Assemble Casserole: Place the broccoli florets evenly in the prepared baking dish. Spread the cooked chicken and garlic mixture over the broccoli.
- Add Cream: Pour the heavy cream evenly over the chicken and broccoli in the dish, which will create a creamy base as it bakes.
- Top with Cheese and Seasoning: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the top of the casserole mixture.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set slightly.
