Ingredients
Seafood and Meat
- 1½ pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
Vegetables
- 1½ pounds baby potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Seasonings and Others
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Boil Potatoes: Bring a large pot of salted water to a vigorous boil. Add the baby potatoes to the pot and cook for 10 minutes to start softening them.
- Add Corn and Sausage: Add the corn pieces and sliced smoked sausage to the pot with the potatoes and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, being careful not to overcook.
- Drain and Prepare Sauce: Drain the water from the pot completely and return it to the stove over low heat. Melt the unsalted butter in the pot, then stir in the minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and lemon juice to create a flavorful sauce.
- Toss Ingredients in Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes to the pot and toss thoroughly to coat all ingredients evenly with the buttery, spicy sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top for freshness and serve the Cajun shrimp boil with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
Notes
- Add crab legs or mussels to the boil for an expanded and richer seafood feast.
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to control the spice level to your liking.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful buttery sauce for a complete meal experience.
