Ingredients
Beef Mixture
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Slider Assembly
- 1 (12-count) package slider rolls (Hawaiian or dinner rolls work great)
- 10–12 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
- 1/4 cup ketchup (optional)
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Optional Toppings
- Pickles
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking during baking.
- Cook Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Season Meat: Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for another 1–2 minutes to let the flavors meld, then remove from heat.
- Assemble Sliders – Bottom Layer: Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping halves attached. Arrange the bottom halves neatly in the prepared baking dish.
- Add Condiments: If desired, spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls for extra moisture and flavor.
- Add Beef and Cheese Layers: Distribute the cooked beef mixture evenly over the sauced bottom rolls. Then layer cheese slices over the beef to ensure a gooey finish.
- Top Layer and Brush: Place the top halves of the slider rolls back onto the cheese layer. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using for added flavor and a golden finish.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. This helps the sliders heat through and the cheese start melting.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the tops are golden brown.
- Serve: Slice the pull-apart sliders into individual pieces and serve warm. Add pickles, lettuce, and tomato on the side or inside according to preference.
Notes
- Great for meal prep: cook the beef mixture in advance and assemble sliders just before baking.
- Customize the cheese to your liking; pepper jack cheese adds a spicy kick.
- For a Big Mac–style slider, add shredded lettuce and pickles after baking to maintain crunch.
