Description
These BBQ Wings are juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and coated in a rich, smoky barbecue sauce. They’re perfect for parties, game day, or a delicious family dinner.
Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips removed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Sauce & Garnish
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the wings.
- Season Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove moisture, then toss them in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, ensuring even coating for flavor.
- Arrange Wings: Place the seasoned wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. This setup allows heat to circulate around the wings for even cooking and crispiness.
- Bake Wings: Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through cooking. This ensures both sides get crispy and the wings are cooked through.
- Toss with Sauce: Remove the wings from the oven and toss them in the barbecue sauce, coating each wing thoroughly for rich flavor.
- Caramelize Sauce: Return the coated wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes. This step helps the barbecue sauce caramelize and stick to the wings for a delicious glaze.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the wings from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, refrigerate the seasoned wings uncovered for 1 hour before baking to dry the skin further.
- Use your favorite homemade or store-bought barbecue sauce depending on your taste preference.
- Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
