Description

These BBQ Wings are juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and coated in a rich, smoky barbecue sauce. They’re perfect for parties, game day, or a delicious family dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Sauce & Garnish

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the wings.
  2. Season Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove moisture, then toss them in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper, ensuring even coating for flavor.
  3. Arrange Wings: Place the seasoned wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. This setup allows heat to circulate around the wings for even cooking and crispiness.
  4. Bake Wings: Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through cooking. This ensures both sides get crispy and the wings are cooked through.
  5. Toss with Sauce: Remove the wings from the oven and toss them in the barbecue sauce, coating each wing thoroughly for rich flavor.
  6. Caramelize Sauce: Return the coated wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes. This step helps the barbecue sauce caramelize and stick to the wings for a delicious glaze.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove the wings from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, refrigerate the seasoned wings uncovered for 1 hour before baking to dry the skin further.
  • Use your favorite homemade or store-bought barbecue sauce depending on your taste preference.
  • Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
