Description

Asian Glazed Salmon features tender, flaky salmon fillets coated in a flavorful sweet and savory glaze made from soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame. This simple yet delicious recipe offers bold Asian-inspired flavors and is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Salmon and Glaze

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Thickened Glaze

  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Garnish

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the salmon.
  2. Make the glaze: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Prepare the salmon: Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Brush each fillet generously with the prepared glaze.
  4. Bake the salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10 to 14 minutes, brushing the salmon with additional glaze halfway through cooking. Bake until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Thicken the glaze: While the salmon is baking, combine cornstarch and water in a small saucepan. Add the remaining glaze mixture, then simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the glaze thickens slightly.
  6. Glaze the cooked salmon: Once the salmon is cooked, brush the thickened glaze over each fillet to enhance flavor and shine.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the salmon with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving. Enjoy immediately, ideally with steamed rice and vegetables.

Notes

  • Be careful not to overcook the salmon; cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your fillets.
  • For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or drizzle sriracha into the glaze.
  • Pair this dish with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
