Description

These Warm Buttery Shrimp Rolls feature tender shrimp sautéed in melted butter, garlic, and fresh herbs, then loaded into toasted split-top buns. Ready in just 30 minutes, they make a quick, flavorful seafood dinner perfect for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Shrimp Filling

  • lbs (680 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Assembly

  • 4 split-top hot dog buns
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the butter and garlic: Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet along with 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste. Cook the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, turning until they turn pink and opaque.
  3. Finish the shrimp mixture: Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, the lemon juice, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix well so the shrimp are coated in the warm buttery sauce.
  4. Toast the buns: Lightly toast the split-top hot dog buns until golden brown to add a slight crunch and prevent sogginess from the shrimp mixture.
  5. Assemble the rolls: Fill each toasted bun with the warm buttery shrimp. Make sure to distribute the shrimp and sauce evenly for a flavorful bite every time.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately while warm, with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the shrimp rolls as desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp or thaw frozen shrimp completely for the best texture.
  • Split-top buns work best to hold the shrimp filling without spilling.
  • Add shredded lettuce or other crunchy greens inside the rolls for extra texture if desired.
