Description

Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with a sweet strawberry filling and topped with a creamy vanilla glaze. These strawberry cinnamon rolls offer a delightful twist on a classic favorite, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert occasions.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:

  • 1 cup strawberries, finely chopped (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt to create the dry base for the dough.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients and Form Dough: Pour the warm milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead Dough: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5–8 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Prepare Filling: While the dough is rising, mix the finely chopped strawberries, sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch in a bowl until evenly combined.
  6. Roll Out Dough: After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle shape.
  7. Spread Filling: Evenly spread the strawberry mixture across the surface of the rolled dough.
  8. Form Rolls: Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 9 equal rolls.
  9. Second Rise: Place the rolls into a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes until puffy.
  10. Bake Rolls: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Prepare Glaze: While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  12. Glaze Rolls: Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven and still warm, drizzle the glaze evenly over the top. Serve warm for best taste.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen strawberries for the filling; if using frozen, thaw and drain excess liquid.
  • Best served warm for a soft, gooey texture and fresh flavor.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
