Description

A savory and slightly sweet noodle dish featuring tender beef coated in a sticky sauce, tossed with noodles and vegetables for a quick and satisfying Asian-inspired meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Noodles

  • 200 g noodles

Beef and Sauce

  • 300 g beef (thinly sliced, preferably flank steak)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)

Vegetables and Garnish

  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions, drain, and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Brown Beef: Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned on all sides but still tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan with the beef, sautéing briefly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add Sauces and Sweetener: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey (or brown sugar) to coat the beef evenly in the sticky sauce.
  5. Cook Vegetables: Toss in the sliced bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  6. Combine Noodles: Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together thoroughly to ensure the beef, vegetables, and noodles are evenly coated in the sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve the sticky beef noodles hot.

Notes

  • Use flank steak for best results as it cooks quickly and remains tender.
  • Add chili flakes or fresh chili if you prefer a spicy kick.
  • Avoid overcooking the beef to maintain tenderness.
  • Feel free to substitute noodles with rice noodles or your preferred type.
