Description
Sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy — these orange-glazed chicken thighs are sticky, flavorful, and perfectly caramelized, making a delicious and easy skillet meal that’s perfect for dinner.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Spicy Orange Glaze
- ½ cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined to create the flavorful glaze.
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust.
- Simmer with glaze: Pour the prepared orange glaze over the seared chicken in the skillet. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the chicken thighs.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation, then serve immediately, ideally with rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level to your preference.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Make sure to simmer the sauce long enough so it thickens and becomes sticky on the chicken.
- Use fresh ginger and garlic for best flavor.
