Ingredients
Base Liquids
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Spices and Fruit
- 4–6 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tbsp whole cloves
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 orange, sliced
- Optional: star anise, nutmeg (to taste)
Instructions
- Add Ingredients: Combine the apple cider, orange juice, lemon juice, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, sliced apple, sliced orange, and optional spices like star anise or nutmeg into the slow cooker.
- Cook: Set the slow cooker to the Low setting and let the mixture simmer for 3 to 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the drink to warm thoroughly.
- Strain: If desired, remove and strain out the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks for a smoother drinking experience.
- Serve: Ladle the warm wassail into mugs and serve immediately for a comforting holiday beverage.
