Description

Crispy, Cajun-seasoned Louisiana Voodoo Fries topped with melted cheese, bacon, jalapeños, and green onions — just like Wingstop, but better homemade. Perfect for parties, snacks, or sides.

Ingredients

2 pounds russet potatoes

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/4 cup sliced jalapeños

1/4 cup chopped green onions

Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut potatoes into fries. Rinse and pat dry.

  2. Mix flour with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

  3. Dip fries in buttermilk, then coat in seasoned flour.

  4. Heat oil to 350°F and fry in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels.

  5. While hot, top fries with cheeses,  jalapeños, and green onions.

  6. Serve hot with optional ranch drizzle.

Notes

  • Use sweet potato fries for a twist on the original
  • Try a mix of cheeses like pepper jack or mozzarella
  • Add hot sauce or buffalo drizzle for even more heat
  • Make it vegetarian by skipping the bacon
