Description
A refreshing, flavor-packed pizza topped with fresh lemon zest, parsley, garlic, and creamy mozzarella. This Lemon Herb Pizza is light, satisfying, and perfect for anyone who loves bold citrusy flavor on a crisp, cheesy crust.
Ingredients
1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons water
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (plus more for garnish)
1–2 garlic cloves, finely grated
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon, plus more for finishing
6 oz fresh mozzarella, cut into ½-inch thick slices
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (plus more for finishing)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 450–475°F (230–245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
-
Roll or press the dough into a 9×13-inch oval or rectangle on parchment paper.
-
In a jar or small bowl, mix olive oil, water, parsley, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Shake or whisk until emulsified.
-
Make shallow indentations in the dough and pour the lemon herb mixture evenly over it.
-
Arrange mozzarella slices over the top, leaving room for the sauce to bubble through.
-
Transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the crust is golden and cheese is melted.
-
Remove from oven. Drizzle with more lemon juice, sprinkle with parmesan and fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Pat the mozzarella dry to avoid soggy crust.
- You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the lemon herb base for a spicy kick.
- This pizza is best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
