Description

Ingredients

Ricotta Layer:

2 (15 oz) containers ricotta cheese

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 large eggs, room temperature

Chocolate Cake Layer:

1 (15.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix

½ cup vegetable oil

1 cup water

3 large eggs

Pudding Frosting:

1 (5 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix

3 cups cold milk

1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch pan.

  2. Mix ricotta, sugar, vanilla, and eggs until smooth.

  3. Prepare cake batter per instructions and pour it into the pan.

  4. Gently pour ricotta mixture over cake batter.

  5. Bake 1 to 1 hour 10 minutes until set. Let cool completely.

  6. Prepare frosting by whisking pudding mix and milk until thick; fold in whipped topping.

  7. Spread over cooled cake. Chill at least 4 hours before serving
