Description

Start your day with the Irresistible Breakfast Crunchwrap, a delicious and satisfying breakfast wrap filled with scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, melted cheese, and savory sausage, all wrapped in a toasted tortilla. This hearty and flavorful breakfast option combines textures and tastes perfectly for a quick and easy morning meal.

Ingredients

For the Wrap

  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, or hot sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the hash browns: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the thawed hash browns, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the eggs: In a bowl, whisk the eggs with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Pour in the eggs and scramble gently until just set, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Warm the tortillas: Lightly warm the tortillas on a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them pliable and easier to fold.
  4. Assemble the crunchwraps: Lay a tortilla flat. In the center, place a scoop of scrambled eggs, followed by a layer of cooked sausage, a crispy hash brown patty, and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese. Add a dollop of salsa or sour cream if desired.
  5. Fold and toast the wrap: Fold the edges of the tortilla towards the center, overlapping them to create a sealed pocket. Place the wrapped crunchwrap seam side down onto a hot non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted inside.
  6. Serve immediately: Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then cut in half if desired and serve with your favorite breakfast condiments.

Notes

  • Use cooked sausage of your choice, such as breakfast pork sausage, turkey sausage, or plant-based alternatives.
  • For a vegetarian version, replace sausage with sautéed mushrooms or extra vegetables.
  • Make sure tortillas are warm and pliable to avoid cracking when folding.
  • Customize with additional ingredients like avocado, onions, or bell peppers.
  • Leftover crunchwraps can be reheated in a skillet or air fryer for best texture.
