Ingredients
Steak and Seasoning
- 1 ½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1–2 inch cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
Cooking Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season Steak: In a bowl, season the sirloin steak cubes evenly with salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder to ensure each piece is well flavored.
- Sear Steak: Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Once hot, add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Add steak cubes in batches if necessary, searing them for 2–3 minutes per batch until they develop a browned crust.
- Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pot with the steak and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Deglaze: Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon to loosen any browned bits to enhance flavor and prevent burning.
- Pressure Cook: Cancel the Sauté mode, close the Instant Pot lid securely, and set it to Pressure Cook on High for 5 minutes to cook the steak bites to tender perfection.
- Release Pressure: When cooking is complete, perform a quick release of the pressure to open the pot safely and promptly.
- Finish Sauce: Switch back to Sauté mode, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and simmer the sauce for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly and becomes rich and glossy.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the steak bites for a pop of color and freshness. Serve warm, ideally over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or alongside your favorite vegetables.
Notes
- For medium-rare steak bites, reduce the pressure cooking time to 3–4 minutes.
- For extra flavor and texture, add sliced mushrooms during the initial sauté step.
- Pair the dish with mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
