Description
Honey Garlic Chicken is a simple, yet flavorful dish featuring tender chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. It’s quick to make, deliciously sticky, and perfect for a weeknight dinner or special occasions.
Ingredients
Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish and Sides:
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Rice or vegetables, for serving
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Cook the chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Finish the dish: Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken until glazed and heated through. Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve: Place the chicken on a serving plate and serve over rice or alongside vegetables.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer to reduce.
- Serve with steamed broccoli or sautéed vegetables for a balanced meal.
