Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Honey BBQ Glaze
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the meatloaf.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape Meatloaf: Form the mixture into a loaf shape and transfer it to a greased baking dish to prevent sticking during baking.
- Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, and mustard until smooth and well combined.
- Apply First Glaze: Spread half of the honey BBQ glaze evenly over the top of the shaped meatloaf to imbue it with sweet and smoky flavor.
- Bake Initial: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, allowing it to cook through and develop a crust.
- Apply Remaining Glaze: Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze evenly on top.
- Finish Baking: Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes to caramelize the glaze and finish cooking.
- Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes after baking to allow juices to redistribute, then slice and serve warm.
