Description

These Greek chicken wraps with garlic yogurt sauce are fresh, flavorful, and perfect for an easy Mediterranean-inspired meal. Juicy marinated chicken is grilled and wrapped in warm pita bread with crisp veggies and a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, making a delicious lunch or dinner option.

Ingredients

Greek Chicken

  • lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste

Wraps & Toppings

  • 6 pita breads or flatbreads
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup sliced cucumber
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • Fresh dill or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and toss until well coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 12 hours for best flavor.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F). Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Assemble the Wraps: Warm pita breads. Add sliced chicken to each wrap, then top with chopped romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, cucumber slices, thinly sliced red onion, crumbled feta cheese, and a generous dollop of garlic yogurt sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh dill or parsley, then serve the wraps immediately while warm and fresh.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs stay extra juicy, but breasts work great too.
  • Add olives or hummus for extra Mediterranean flavor.
  • Serve as wraps, bowls, or salads for variety.
  • Leftover chicken keeps well for up to 4 days refrigerated.
  • The garlic yogurt sauce can be made 1–2 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
