Description

Tender salmon fillet baked under a glossy, sweet-and-salty soy-garlic-lemon glaze. Ready in under 35 minutes; perfect for elegant weeknight dinners or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

lbs salmon fillet (skin-on or skinless)

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce

½ cup brown sugar (packed)

4 garlic cloves, minced

3 tablespoons lemon juice

¼ cup salted butter

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

Optional garnish: chopped green onion or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C); let salmon sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.

  2. Simmer soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, lemon juice, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan for 2–3 minutes until smooth.

  3. Place salmon skin-side down in a baking dish, brush with olive oil, and season.

  4. Pour glaze over salmon and cover tightly with foil.

  5. Bake for 10–25 minutes (about 10 minutes per inch thickness).

  6. Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for a caramelized top.

  7. Garnish with green onion or parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Avoid boiling the glaze—it should remain smooth and pourable.Keep a close eye during broil to prevent burning.Room-temperature salmon bakes more evenly.
