Description

A rich and satisfying Italian-American main course featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a flavorful garlic butter sauce, tossed with al dente bowtie pasta and finished with parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. This easy stovetop recipe is perfect for a quick and comforting meal that serves three.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced

Pasta

  • 250 g bowtie pasta

Sauce and Seasonings

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken: Pat the sliced chicken breasts dry and season evenly with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cook the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the seasoned chicken slices and cook until they are golden brown and thoroughly cooked, about 5-7 minutes depending on thickness.
  4. Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the chicken and sauté briefly for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
  5. Add chicken broth and simmer: Pour in the chicken broth, stirring and allowing it to simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly and combine flavors.
  6. Toss pasta with sauce: Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet along with the grated parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Toss everything together gently until the pasta is well coated and warmed through.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish as garnish and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For a richer and creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half when adding the chicken broth.
  • Incorporate vegetables such as fresh spinach or sliced mushrooms during the garlic sauté step for added nutrition and flavor.
  • Use cooked rotisserie chicken as a shortcut to reduce overall cook time.
