Description
A classic Italian dessert made easy — layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone dusted with cocoa powder, perfect for a no-bake treat that delights every time.
Ingredients
Liquid Ingredients
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
- 2 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)
Cream Mixture
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Other
- 24 ladyfingers
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare the cream mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Whip the heavy cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture to create a light, airy filling.
- Dip ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the brewed coffee (and coffee liqueur if using), ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- Assemble layers: Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of your serving dish, then spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture evenly over them. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.
- Dust with cocoa powder: Generously sift cocoa powder over the top layer to finish your tiramisu.
- Chill: Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Notes
- Add grated chocolate on top for an extra decorative and flavorful garnish.
- Use decaffeinated espresso or coffee to make a caffeine-free version suitable for all guests.
