Ingredients
Pizza Dough
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
Fillings
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional fillings: pepperoni, mushrooms, olives (quantity as desired)
Topping
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) to ensure it is hot and ready for baking the pizza pockets to a perfect golden brown.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into rectangular pieces, sized to comfortably hold your fillings.
- Add Fillings: Spoon pizza sauce onto one side of each dough rectangle, then add shredded mozzarella cheese and your choice of optional fillings like pepperoni, mushrooms, or olives.
- Seal Pockets: Fold the dough over to enclose the fillings, creating a pocket. Press the edges firmly and seal them by crimping with the prongs of a fork to prevent leakage during baking.
- Oil and Season: Brush the tops of the sealed pockets with olive oil for crispiness and sprinkle Italian seasoning evenly over them for added flavor.
- Bake: Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbly.
Notes
- Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping to enhance flavor.
- These pizza pockets can be frozen after baking; reheat in the oven for best results.
