Description

This decadent red velvet martini is a smooth, creamy, and dessert-like cocktail featuring rich cocoa flavor and a beautiful ruby-red color, perfect for Valentine’s Day celebrations or a fancy night in. A non-alcoholic mocktail version is also included for everyone to enjoy safely.

Ingredients

Cocktail Version (21+)

  • 2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur
  • 1 oz Irish cream
  • 1 oz half-and-half or heavy cream
  • ½ tsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp red food coloring
  • Ice

Mocktail Version (No Alcohol)

  • ½ cup milk or half-and-half
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • ¼ tsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring (to taste)
  • Ice

Optional Garnish

  • Chocolate syrup (for glass rim)
  • Red velvet cake crumbs
  • White chocolate shavings
  • Mini heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass: Drizzle chocolate syrup inside a martini glass and chill it to enhance presentation and keep the drink cool.
  2. Fill the shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to ensure the drink becomes properly chilled when shaken.
  3. Add cocktail ingredients: Pour vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, Irish cream, half-and-half (or heavy cream), cocoa powder, and red food coloring into the shaker.
  4. Shake vigorously: Shake the mixture vigorously for 15–20 seconds to combine all ingredients well and create a frothy, creamy texture.
  5. Strain and serve: Strain the mixture into the prepared chilled glass to ensure a smooth drink without ice shards.
  6. Garnish and enjoy: Garnish with optional red velvet cake crumbs, white chocolate shavings, mini heart sprinkles, or extra chocolate syrup and serve immediately for the best texture.
  7. Mocktail preparation: Add all mocktail ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake until frothy and well combined, then strain into a chilled glass and garnish as desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red food coloring for a lighter or deeper red hue to suit your preference.
  • For extra sweetness, use chocolate milk instead of cream in the cocktail or mocktail.
  • Chill glasses beforehand for improved presentation and to keep the martini cold longer.
  • Serve immediately after preparation to enjoy the creamiest texture and best flavor.
