Description

This crispy honey garlic tofu recipe features golden pan-fried tofu coated in a buttery-sweet garlic-ginger sauce that’s sticky and flavorful—perfect for meatless meals or quick weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

1416 oz extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed

½ cup cornstarch

¼ cup soy sauce (or gluten-free tamari)

2 tbsp rice vinegar

¼ cup honey (or maple syrup/agave for vegan)

45 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp grated fresh ginger

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tsp sesame oil

½ cup neutral oil (for frying)

Sesame seeds and sliced green onion (optional, garnish)


Instructions

  1. Press and cube tofu. Coat with cornstarch.

  2. Whisk sauce ingredients.

  3. Heat oil and fry tofu in batches until golden. Drain.

  4. Wipe excess oil; simmer sauce until glossy.

  5. Toss tofu in sauce until evenly coated.

  6. Garnish and serve hot.
