Description

Juicy baked chicken breasts smothered in a rich, creamy garlic Parmesan sauce and oven-baked until tender and bubbly. This easy comfort-food dinner is perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family meals.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Creamy Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, extra creamy)

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh parsley
  • Extra Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper for a flavorful base.
  3. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken breasts for 2–3 minutes per side until they develop a light golden crust. This step is optional but adds depth of flavor.
  4. Prepare the baking dish: Transfer the seared chicken breasts to the prepared baking dish, arranging them evenly.
  5. Make the creamy sauce: In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, chicken broth, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and cream cheese (if using) until smooth and well combined.
  6. Combine and bake: Pour the creamy sauce evenly over the chicken breasts. Cover the dish loosely with foil to keep moisture in and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Finish baking uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10–15 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Garnish and serve: Once baked, garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm for a comforting meal.

Notes

  • Add mushrooms or spinach to the sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts if preferred; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables to complete the meal.
  • Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
