Ingredients

1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup

½ cup milk

1 tsp soy sauce

4 cups green beans (fresh, canned, or frozen)

1 ⅓ cups crispy French fried onions, divided

¼ tsp pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 350°F.

  2. If using fresh green beans, clean, cut, and blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes. If using canned, simply drain them.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth and no lumps remain.

  4. Add the green beans and ⅔ cup of French fried onions, and stir in pepper to taste.

  5. Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 9×9 casserole dish and spread it evenly.

  6. Air Fryer Method: Bake for 10 minutes. Stir, then sprinkle the remaining onions on top and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  7. Oven Method: Bake for 25 minutes, then stir and sprinkle the remaining onions on top. Bake for 5 more minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, swap the cream of mushroom soup with a plant-based version and use non-dairy milk.
  • You can add extra veggies, such as mushrooms, garlic, or even shredded cheese, for extra flavor.
  • For a low-sodium version, use unsalted soup and reduced-sodium soy sauce
