Description

Chocolate covered strawberries are a timeless and elegant dessert featuring fresh, juicy strawberries dipped in smooth, melted chocolate. This simple no-bake treat is perfect for romantic occasions like Valentine’s Day, festive parties, or a luxurious everyday snack. The combination of sweet fruit and rich chocolate makes for an impressive and delicious dessert that requires minimal ingredients and effort.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (washed and completely dry)

Chocolate Coating

  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smooth melting)

Optional Drizzle

  • White chocolate chips (optional, for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the dipped strawberries on for setting.
  2. Wash and dry strawberries: Rinse the strawberries thoroughly, then dry them completely using paper towels or a clean kitchen towel, as any moisture will prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
  3. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips with the coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  4. Dip strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is coated evenly. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  5. Place on parchment: Set the dipped strawberries on the prepared baking sheet to cool and set.
  6. Optional white chocolate drizzle: Melt the white chocolate chips in the same manner and use a spoon or piping bag to drizzle over the dipped strawberries for decoration.
  7. Set the chocolate: Allow the strawberries to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until the chocolate is firm and fully hardened.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • Avoid refrigerating strawberries for more than 24 hours as they can release moisture and spoil the texture.
  • Add toppings like sprinkles, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut to the chocolate before it sets for added texture and flavor.
  • For optimum freshness and taste, consume the chocolate covered strawberries the same day they are made.
