Description

A moist and classic banana bread filled with rich chocolate chips—perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert. This easy-to-make recipe combines ripe bananas, sweet chocolate chips, and a soft crumb, delivering a comforting treat enjoyed by all ages.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking during baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate larger bowl, whisk together the mashed ripe bananas, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully blended.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently just until combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure a tender crumb.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the chocolate chips into the batter, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout.
  6. Transfer Batter to Pan: Pour the prepared batter into the greased loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean, indicating it is fully baked.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best, richest flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Optionally, add chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans for extra texture and flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender and moist.
  • Store leftover banana bread wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
