Description

Juicy and flavorful chicken kofta made with aromatic spices, served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce. A delicious and versatile Middle Eastern dish perfect to enjoy with rice, flatbread, or salads.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Kofta

  • 500 g ground chicken
  • 1/4 onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the Kofta Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the Kofta: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small logs or balls, about the size of a golf ball, to ensure even cooking.
  3. Cook the Kofta: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the kofta and cook, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, approximately 15-20 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve: Plate the cooked chicken kofta and drizzle or serve alongside the garlic yogurt sauce. Enjoy with rice, flatbread, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Chill the meat mixture for 30 minutes before shaping the kofta for easier handling and better texture.
  • For a smoky flavor, grill the kofta instead of pan-frying.
  • Add chili flakes to the meat mixture or sauce if you prefer a spicier dish.
